Our Story

Washy was three years in the making.

What began as a simple dog grooming journey soon became something much bigger. As the cost of professional grooming continued to rise, our founder, Amaan, decided to take matters into his own hands and trained as a dog groomer. Through dedication, hands-on experience, and an unwavering commitment to quality care, his grooming business quickly grew — earning him Watford Observer’s Best Dog Grooming Business in 2025 and a nomination for the England Business Awards in 2024.

Spending long days washing dogs, Amaan began to notice the impact many shampoos were having — not only on the dogs’ coats and skin, but on his own hands too. Frequent irritation and reactions raised an important question: if these products were affecting groomers, what were they doing to dogs?

Determined to find a better solution, Amaan tested countless shampoos, yet struggled to find formulas that were truly natural, gentle, and effective. So Washy was born.

After years of working closely with trusted suppliers and formulators, Washy developed a collection of premium, natural and organic shampoos designed to care for dogs’ skin and coats without compromise. Today, these products are loved by thousands of dog owners and professional groomers alike.

As Washy grew, so did the vision. The brand now also creates high-end, trend-led dog fashion — because we believe every dog deserves to feel comfortable, cared for, and impeccably styled.

Washy is built on experience, passion, and a genuine love for dogs — creating products that look good, feel good, and do good.

MEET TANK & MIMI

Tank came into my life during lockdown, and from day one he became my best friend. We do everything together. He’s the gentlest, most playful soul and is loved by everyone he meets. Now five years old, Tank still acts like a puppy — full of energy, curiosity, and joy.

My fluffy furball is the definition of spoiled. All he wants to do is run around the park with his friends and sit down for dinner with my grandma. Tank has taught me more than I ever expected, and Washy simply wouldn’t be where it is today without him.

Then there’s Mimi.

Mimi is a rescue who was brought to me by strangers while I was working in my grooming salon. Originally from China, she had suffered severe abuse and had been passed through five different homes in the UK, with no one able to help her. She had been beaten with sticks and belts, and I was told she would never be able to socialise — that it might even be kinder to put her down. I refused to accept that.

I spent nearly a year patiently training her, earning her trust, and showing her what love and safety truly mean. Today, Mimi is almost four years old and is the most loving, gentle, and friendly dog you could meet — a complete transformation and a powerful reminder of resilience and second chances.

Tank and Mimi are like cheeky siblings, always getting into mischief together and keeping life interesting. They are the heart of Washy and the reason behind everything we do.
